The Bumiputera Agenda Steering Unit (TERAJU) is an agency under the Ministry of Economy that serves as the primary catalyst in empowering the Bumiputera economic and socioeconomic agenda within the context of Malaysia’s national development. Since 2011 TERAJU has evolved into a crucial pillar in driving high-trajectory Bumiputera economic transformation. Through a holistic approach encompassing strategic interventions, innovative initiatives, and targeted programs, TERAJU plays an instrumental role in enhancing Bumiputera participation in strategic industries. The agency’s main focus is to create a sustainable Bumiputera development ecosystem based on the principles of fair, equitable, and inclusive economic distribution.
Beyond economic aspects, TERAJU is also mandated to drive improvements in the well-being and sustainability of the Bumiputera community. This effort aims to create a conducive and dynamic environment, thereby elevating the status of Bumiputeras to a higher level in the country’s socioeconomic landscape. With a clear vision and comprehensive approach, TERAJU continues to be the main catalyst in transforming the Bumiputera economic landscape and significantly contributing to a more inclusive and sustainable national development.
TERAJU’s monitoring of 132 PuTERA35 initiatives across 50+ ministries and government agencies relied on fragmented, manual reporting processes. This made it difficult to track KPI performance in real-time, ensure data accuracy, and maintain accountability across implementing agencies — creating coordination gaps and delays in decision-making at the leadership level.
Developed and deployed the PuTERA35 Monitoring Dashboard Platform using Google AppSheet, Google Sheets, Google Apps Script, and Looker Studio. The platform centralizes data submission from implementing agencies through a structured web and mobile app, automates validation and approval workflows, and delivers role-based dashboards for internal stakeholders (TERAJU, ministries, secretariat) and a public-facing dashboard for transparency. Automated email notifications handle submission reminders, approval updates, and overdue alerts, while Google Vault ensures audit compliance and data governance.
Replaced manual, fragmented reporting with a centralized, near real-time monitoring platform across all PuTERA35 initiatives.
