1. Company Intro

PMG Healthcare Group is Malaysia’s leading integrated primary healthcare provider, operating a network of over 250 pharmacies, medical clinics, dental clinics, labs, and physio centres across the country. The group serves more than 2.3 million members with an estimated 10.8 million annual footfall. Founded in 2010 by Dr. Chieng King Chong and headquartered in Sarawak, PMG has grown from a single outlet into a national healthcare brand with an ambition to become Malaysia’s No. 1 integrated primary healthcare provider.

2. Challenge

As PMG scaled rapidly across multiple states, its financial reporting became increasingly complex. The company relied on fragmented data sources, including P&L statements, general ledger entries, and reference data stored across CSV/Excel files and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. Slow and unreliable data load processes made timely financial insights difficult, while the absence of automated scheduling and error-handling mechanisms left the team unable to detect or recover quickly from data failures.

3. Solution

Cloocus designed and implemented a unified analytics platform on Microsoft Fabric, built on a Medallion Architecture (Bronze → Silver → Gold layers) within PMG’s own subscription environment. Key deliverables included automated ETL pipelines with incremental daily loads from Dynamics 365 (General Ledger), a SharePoint connector for static reference files (COA, layouts, branch/department mappings), a scheduled data refresh engine with error detection and rollback capability, basic workspace security in the data warehouse, and a two-day Power BI training programme to upskill PMG’s internal team.

4. Benefit / Results

PMG now has a reliable, automated data pipeline that delivers financial insights, P&L and general ledger data , on a daily cadence without manual intervention. Bottlenecks caused by inefficient data structures were resolved through optimised data transformation rather than costly compute scaling. Finance teams gain faster, more accurate visibility into group-wide performance, while the error detection and rollback mechanisms give operations teams confidence in data integrity. The training investment ensures PMG can independently manage and evolve their reporting environment going forward.
